Fitzwilliam Leys began with a tired, uncomfortable conservatory — too hot in summer, too cold in winter, and cut off from the rest of the house. The owners wanted a proper, year-round room that finally connected the home to its garden.
In its place we designed a crisp, cedar-clad extension, kept simple and honest against the original brick. A bold dark bay window frames a favourite corner of the garden, wide sliding doors open the room up in warmer months, and a rooflight washes the space with daylight — the detailing carefully worked through so it feels calm rather than busy.
The result is a bright, warm and genuinely useful everyday space — a modest extension that quietly transforms how the whole house is lived in.
